Our tips for choosing the right tariff:

As a student, you often live in a shared apartment or a small flat, where monthly fixed costs play a significant role. One of these costs is your electricity bill. But which tariff best suits your student budget? And what should you consider when choosing one? Here you'll find the most important tips!

1. Basic service provider vs. alternative providers

If you don't actively choose an electricity tariff, you'll automatically end up on your local provider's default tariff. However, this is usually more expensive than alternative providers. It's therefore worthwhile to compare different tariffs and specifically look for cheaper options.

2. Use a tariff comparison tool

Pay attention to the following points:

  1. Monthly costs and basic fee
  2. Price per kilowatt hour (kWh)
  3. Contract duration and notice periods
  4. New customer bonuses (but beware of short-term enticing offers!)

3. Prefer short contract durations

Flexibility is important, especially if you live in a shared apartment or move frequently. Choose plans with a short contract term (maximum 12 months) and the shortest possible notice periods for cancellation.

4. Check advance payments

Many providers require monthly advance payments. These should be realistic and correspond to your actual consumption. An excessively high advance payment means you are unnecessarily "fronting" the provider with money.

5. Green electricity as a sustainable alternative

If sustainability is important to you, there are numerous affordable green electricity tariffs. These are often only slightly more expensive than conventional electricity and make an important contribution to climate protection.

6. Special right of termination in case of price increases

If your provider increases prices, you have a special right of termination. In this case, you can switch without observing the regular notice period.

Making the world a little bit better every day

In our sometimes crazy world, every single positive initiative counts. With our allmaxx campaign, we're trying to raise money for people who aren't as lucky as we are, who can't just go to school or university without any support.

We can, or rather, we could. And yes, as students we didn't have much money and nothing to give away. Hence the allmaxx idea:

Find the best tariff, the best offer, and we will collect commissions that we can then donate.
